Bandbox is a widget that sits on the artist's website and delivers a greater return per song purchased than the artist can get from itunes.  For every song sold on itunes at $0.99 cents the artist receives $0.70 cents. On Bandbox the artist receives $0.90 cents and a share of any advertising revenue. Recently Taylor Swift (the biggest selling female artist in the US in 2008) received a return of 102.6%. 
Bandbox is looking for $3M to rollout in the US with more artists.  Bandbox would be prepared to license its technology & name for other regions in the world in return for US funding and a small ongoing license fee.
